Unset the Mindset: Q&A with the Founder, Patience Modevi [Part 1]
What made you set up the Unset the Mindset programme?
It’s actually a really simple reason. It stems from what I see in women in general, but also in my female clients - in order for them to move from where they felt stuck at to then arrive to a state where they felt in charge and able to lead their lives in the way they needed, they really needed to work on their mindset.
The Unset the Mindset Programme is designed to be something that will serve women for life, during all ups and downs. It is a tool that you can use and reuse to contemplate your life, to reflect on your it, and also to go on a self-discovery journey within yourself and rediscover who you are. Kind of like going on an exploration and knowing what you are able to undo and where you can start again.
It's a way of making women feel confident in themselves, knowing that they have a companion that can guide them through things that need shifting.
It's about really sticking through the journey, because, as we all know, it's never a smooth journey. It's things that you will anchor in your life, whether you do it in a subconscious or conscious way. That will open up the space for you to accomplish your dreams. That's why I set up the Unset the Mindset programme.
The reason why there is a retreat is because I feel like when we do hard work, when we work on ourselves, we want to be celebrated. We want to be taken care of. We want to be given a space where we are fulfilled, where we feel seen. For me, it's a way of embodying the three months of work that has been done and really creating this sisterhood; this space where you know that you have a community of women who not only think like you, but also have gone through their own journey. Where you can say you know what, we've made it, and we are here! And from this work that we are doing andfrom this community that we have gathered, how do we move on, and how do we live?
Unset the Mindset is a journey that you take once, but it's a journey that will support you over and over again.
What qualifies you to lead the program? Tell me more about you.
I've been a certified coach for around three years, but I've been coaching people from before then. One thing that I've realized is that in my approach to coaching, I've always looked for modalities and other tools that can support women into creating a world where they feel confident to be able to move on.
For myself to be able to move on, I followed my own example. I needed to take courses and educate myself. I took quite a few courses on how quantum leaps can help you to move forward with your objectives. I'm educated in EFT tapping along with many other different modalities - all the things that I feel can be useful and needed by women. For example, Human Design. I am not a certified Human Design reader or coach, but what happens is that I know enough on the subject to understand it in a way that is going to serve my clients. By doing a reading, I am able to pick up on the things that we work with in the program and how people can go through their own work themselves.
The work is not done by me - the work is done by the women on the course themselves. And they have to take the opportunity to go into this journey and discover the hidden part of them, as well as the parts that are visible to everyone.
Who is the programme for?
It's for women who are looking to do a deep dive on themselves. Women who feel like they've been stuck in a rut, in a cycle and they want to come out of the space where they are. Crucially, they feel that they are ready for a committed journey to understand more about themselves.
I would not recommend this course if you were looking to just be part of the tribe, because at the end of the day, it's not about that. It's about looking at the ways where you can change, where you can release some of the traumas or beliefs that you've created in your life, and where you are able to then understand a little bit more about yourself and go a little bit deeper. Understanding a bit more about why and when things are triggering you – asking ‘why do I keep on doing this?’ and truly discovering why.
It's for women who suffer from co-dependency, who are unable to do things by themselves. Women who have been through a lot of challenges and are maybe feeling overwhelmed with everything. Women who feel that they're taking on a lot of responsibilities and leaving themselves at the bottom of the priority list. Nurturers who have been able to care for everybody, but nobody cares for them, and they feel lonely in that journey. Women who want to reconnect with themselves and to their own wealth. They want to know their own wealth in such a way that they’re able to claim it and reclaim the power that they've lost. Women who have maybe not been seen. Women who have perhaps gone through so much in their life, so many challenges, that they feel like they are not seen. Women who are ready to learn to let go. Women who are ready to learn to stop attaching themselves to a person, to a certain outcome, to a material thing. Women who understand that they have come to this earth with a purpose that they need to work on. How do they fulfil that purpose?
It is for all those women.
Which topics will be covered?
In the Unset the Mindset programme there are three modules. The modules are around beliefs, dreams, and anchors. Throughout my journey into my work and personal life, what I have realized is that once you work on the beliefs, you need to be able to anchor and create a life that will go into what it is you're aligned with.
For example, let's say you have a belief such as ‘I cannot do public speaking. I will never be able to speak in front of people.’ Delve into the self-discovery of what it is that makes you feel that you can't do public speaking. Why is it that you already know that this barrier is up? Why is it up?
It’s then a case of going into this particular challenge and really uncovering all the layers around it; really getting to the root of why you created this belief. Is this belief actually serving you? Ask yourself, ‘what can I do to take my power back from that belief?’ Imagine you've got your power back and it’s in your hand. What do you do with it? Now is the time to take this power and fuel the dream that you really want. So, whatever it is that you've never, ever wanted to tell people, or you thought you could never even imagine doing, it’s time to say ‘OK, now I'm going to go and be able to do this thing, because I've got that power back. I've taken back my power. I can control the way I react, and therefore I've got more. More ways to manage whatever comes, because the challenges will keep coming, really and truly.
Then you have the anchors. This module is about how you are actually already creating today the life that you want to have in the future. So, working on the present to really anchor things that will be more aligned with the life that you deserve later. When we say later, it could be in a week, in a month, in a year - it could be in 10 years’ time. It all starts from the things that we put in today, that we work on today, so that they can serve us in the long run.
Thinking about the public speaking example, it could be something really simple, such as ‘I'm going to start with some affirmations every day. I'm going to do some subconscious work.’ Or it could be a way to create a path to feed public speaking into your life - for example, by being in an environment that is conducive to this. Meeting people that are into public speaking – who are already where you want to be.
As I explained before, the topics covered will be everything to do with your beliefs, dreams, and how you'll be able to anchor this work into your life so that it serves you for anything else that you want to do.
From there, the cherry on the top is the retreat, but more about that later.
More to come in part 2!
